About Mark

Hello and Welcome. I am Mark Travis, MA, M.Div, LMFT and I am glad you are here.
For over two decades I have worked as a pastor, public speaker, teacher, community advocate and now as psychotherapist. I have turned my gifts of empathy, listening, creativity and humor to sitting with people and listening to their stories in a therapeutic setting. I work with individuals, adolescents 12 years and older, adults, couples and families of all ethnicities, gender, gender identity/ies, sexual orientation, life and religious/spiritual beliefs. My job is to sit with you and listen without judgement. Together we will create goals and discern the paths you will need to walk in order to reach the change and goals you are seeking or need.
My experience includes work with anxiety, depression, autism, and grief counseling. I have worked with the many expressions within the LGBTQ+ community including helping individuals discern their gender identity, sexual orientation and the coming out process. I provide marriage counseling and help couples transform their relationship, process issues around possible separation and divorce. I am also experienced in providing a safe place for people to explore issues around sex and sexual expression.
My theoretical orientation is grounded in Adlerian and Structural theories while also incorporating elements of Narrative, Gottman Method, EFT, CBT and DBT theories into your treatment plan and therapy experience. I integrate the assessment tools of Genograms, Eco maps, PHQ-9 and GAD-7.
I base my work in the science of mental health care, empirical research, and mindfulness techniques. I help you incorporate your strengths, hobbies, interests and other resources into your care.
